Frequently Asked Questions
Can Yard Integrate with Asset & Trucks
Yes. Yard can integrate with Assets & Trucks. Point of integration for the modules will be shipment. The shipments planned in Assets will flow between Yard and Trucks.
Do I need Hardware to use Scelint's Yard? How is it beneficial?
No. You can use Scelint's Yard without any hardware. But with help of hardware such as RFID and GPS, you can automate your process and keep track of Yard inventory, automate the process at gate check-in and check-out, track trailers, automate the dock and make it easy for the shunt driver to locate trailer, avoid deadheading of shunt drivers, etc.
Can your system help us control our detention and demurrage costs?
Carriers and drayage companies are automatically alerted in real time by the system, verifying time-on-property of all containers and trailers, when they are empty and when ultimately the carrier or drayage company picked them up – increasing accountability over detention and demurrage charges.
How much time does installation take on an average?
Scelint Yard can be easily installed in weeks rather than months. The typical installation takes three to four weeks at most.
Can your solution work with my current legacy systems like TMS and WMS?
Yes. Scelint Yard can seamlessly integrate with any existing legacy systems, regardless of the kind and enhance the yard’s operational efficiency by at least 10 folds.
Can your solution help with safety of trailer?
Yes. We promote safety in multiple ways, for all levels. With multi-level inspection of trailer through its life cycle (before loading, after loading, when trailer is parked at parking lot and while departure) also with our on demand Dispatch Move Request, dock users must certify that the trailer is safe to move before the request is sent to the yard driver. Yard drivers can also be prompted to use chock blocks and certify that trailers are placed safely.
